📍 Aqueduto da Amoreira Assim que chegamos à cidade, somos recebidos pelo monumental Aqueduto da Amoreira, com impressionantes 7 km de extensão e 843 arcos. Sua extensão total mede 1367 metros, com algumas partes alcançando alturas de mais de 30 metros. É verdadeiramente surpreendente a preservação desses arcos, cuja construção teve início no século XVI.

📍 Rua das Beatas É onde fica a antiga judiaria, achamos a rua mais bonita de Elvas, quando fomos estava tudo bem cuidado e florido, observe os detalhes das portas ogivais E falando em rua, observe os detalhes nas ruas em mármore, a cidade ostenta esse material porque a região é muito rica nessa pedra.

📍Museu da Ameixa de Elvas Se você também é um apreciador de doces típicos de diferentes regiões, Elvas oferece uma iguaria única: a ameixa transformada em doce. Há 500 anos, as freiras dos Conventos de Santa Clara e São Domingos começaram a produzir as ameixas confitadas, e essa tradição continua até hoje.

As ameixas utilizadas são da variedade rainha-cláudia, que são menores e verdes. Além disso, na mesma loja, você encontrará um pequeno museu que narra essa história. 📍 Praça da República A Praça da República já teve outros nomes, como "Praça Nova" e "Praça do Príncipe D. Carlos". Achamos a Praça muito bonita e tranquila, e o pavimento em calçada portuguesa adiciona um charme extra.

📍Igreja Nossa Senhora da Assunção / Antiga sé Na Praça da República fica a antiga Sé. Sua construção teve início em 1517 e apresenta um caráter fortificado, destacando-se por sua fachada com uma imponente torre.

Em 1570, a igreja de Nossa Senhora da Assunção foi elevada à categoria de Sé de Elvas, título que manteve até 1881.

Originalmente, a Sé de Elvas seguia o estilo manuelino, embora tenha perdido algumas características devido a várias reformas ao longo do tempo. No entanto, é possível ainda observar elementos manuelinos na fachada, nas laterais dos portais.

No interior da Igreja, a riqueza dos detalhes dos mármores trabalhados manualmente é impressionante, especialmente na área do altar, onde se destacam mármores de diversas cores e formas.

📍A Igreja das Domínicas, Fica em frente ao Pelourinho. A fachada é simples e você não dá muito para ela, mas não se deixe enganar, a visita é obrigatória. Não deixe de apreciar os detalhes da cúpula em azulejos do século XVII. Além disso, a igreja possui um miradouro que oferece uma vista panorâmica de parte do centro histórico de Elvas.

The preservation of these arches is truly remarkable, considering that their construction began in the 16th century.

📍 Rua das Beatas This is where the old Jewish quarter is located, and we found it to be the most beautiful street in Elvas. When we visited, everything was well-maintained and adorned with flowers. Take a closer look at the details of the ogivaldoors. Speaking of streets, notice their various marble details. The city proudly displays this material because the region is rich in this stone.

📍Elvas Plum Museum Museu da Ameixa de elvas If you're also a fan of typical sweets from different regions, Elvas offers a unique treat: plums transformed into jam. Five hundred years ago, the nuns from the Santa Clara and São Domingos Convents in Elvas began producing candied plums, and Mr. José Carlos, the current owner, has continued this age-old tradition.

The plums used are of the queen-claudia variety, which are smaller and green. Additionally, in the same store, you'll find a small museum that tells the story of Elvas plums. And when you look at the store's floor, you'll be standing on a Roman pavement with over two thousand years of history!

In 1570, the Church of Nossa Senhora da Assunção was elevated to the status of Elvas Cathedral, a title it held until 1881.

Originally, Elvas Cathedral followed the Manueline style, although it has lost some of its features due to various renovations over time. However, you can still observe Manueline elements on the facade, particularly on the sides of the portals.

Inside the church, the richness of intricately carved marbles is impressive, especially in the area of the altar, where marbles of various colors and shapes stand out.

📍Elvas Pillory Pelourinho de Elvas dates back to the 16th century, with some remnants of the original structure. This Pillory is located in Largo de Santa Clara, close to the two main entrance towers to the Alcáçova.
