🇧🇷 Os Jardins da Quinta das Lágrimas têm uma rica história, ao redor de um palácio do século XVIII.

A lenda diz que foi neste jardim que se encontravam os apaixonados Pedro e Inês, o casal mais famoso de Portugal.

Conta-se que o príncipe Pedro I se apaixonou por Inês de Castro, filha de um nobre espanhol que era dama de companhia de sua esposa. O pai de Pedro não aprovou o romance e exilou Inês. Quando a esposa de Pedro faleceu, Inês retornou a Portugal, reencontrou seu amado e teve quatro filhos com ele.

Pedro liderou uma revolta contra seu pai, desencadeando uma guerra civil em Portugal. Após assumir o trono, ele foi atrás dos assassinos de sua amada e lhes arrancou o coração.

Pedro declarou Inês como rainha de Portugal, mesmo depois de sua morte.

Não é necessário estar hospedado para visitar o jardim.

O jardim está aberto todos os dias, das 10h às 19h.

Para visitas guiadas, é necessário fazer a reserva com antecedência.

Os bilhetes para crianças e maiores de 65 anos custam 1 €, enquanto o bilhete comum é 2,5 €.

🇺🇸 The Gardens of Quinta das Lágrimas have a rich history, surrounding an 18th-century palace.

Legend has it that this is where the famous lovers Pedro and Inês used to meet.

The story goes that Prince Pedro I fell in love with Inês de Castro, the daughter of a Spanish nobleman who was a lady-in-waiting to his wife. Pedro's father didn't approve of the romance and exiled Inês. When Pedro’s wife passed away, Inês returned to Portugal, reunited with her lover, and had four children with him.

Pedro led a revolt against his father, sparking a civil war in Portugal. After becoming king, he went after the assassins of his beloved and had their hearts ripped out.

Pedro declared Inês as queen of Portugal, even after she had died.

You don’t need to be staying there to visit the garden.

The garden is open daily from 10 AM to 7 PM.

For guided tours, you need to book in advance.

Tickets for children and seniors over 65 cost €1, and regular tickets are €2.5.
