🇧🇷 O Dólmen de Alcobertas fica em Rio Maior, dentro da Igreja Paroquial de Santa Maria Madalena. É um monumento funerário Megalítico do período Neolítico e é um dos dez maiores Dólmens da Península Ibérica. Quando entramos na igreja somos surpreendidos, porque do lado de fora parece que é uma igreja ‘normal'. Quando o Dólmen foi descoberto, havia uma câmara e um pequeno corredor, que estava todo coberto de terra, formando uma Mamoa. No séc. XVIII, foi construída uma cobertura abobadada que é vista hoje, porque a original danificou-se.

🇺🇸 The Alcobertas Dolmen is located in Rio Maior, within the Parish Church of Santa Maria Madalena. It's a Megalithic funerary monument from the Neolithic period and is one of the ten largest Dolmens in the Iberian Peninsula. When you enter the church, you're in for a surprise, as from the outside, it appears to be just an 'ordinary' church. When the Dolmen was discovered, there was a chamber and a small corridor, both covered in soil, forming a Mound. In the 18th century, a vaulted covering was constructed, which is what we see today, as the original one had been damaged.
