Lá, experimentamos o doce tradicional cruzio, com raízes monásticas, feito a partir de uma receita antiga que usa ingredientes como farinha, manteiga, creme de ovo e amêndoas laminadas polvilhadas com açúcar.

Adoramos ver tanto moradores quanto turistas desfrutando de café, doces e lanches leves enquanto absorvem a atmosfera única do lugar.

Além disso, há apresentações de fado no final da tarde. É um local imperdível para conhecer a rica história e cultura de Coimbra.

🇺🇸 The Café Santa Cruz in Coimbra isn't just any café – it's housed in an old chapel from the Santa Cruz Monastery, dating back to 1530. With its Manueline vaulted ceiling, stained glass windows, and marble-topped tables, the café exudes historic charm.

There, we tried the traditional cruzio sweet, with monastic roots, made from an old recipe using ingredients like flour, butter, egg cream, and sliced almonds dusted with sugar.

We loved seeing both locals and tourists enjoying coffee, sweets, and light snacks while soaking up the unique atmosphere.

Additionally, there are fado performances in the late afternoon. It’s a must-visit spot to experience Coimbra’s rich history and culture.
