Tower Bridge is a famous double-leaf bascule bridge that spans the River Thames in London. Completed in 1894, it features twin towers rising 61 meters above the river and glass-covered walkways for pedestrians. Originally operated by steam-powered hydraulic pumps, it now runs on electric motors but still maintains its steam power system for display. While the bridge's leaves are rarely raised nowadays due to reduced shipping, it remains a popular tourist attraction known for its iconic design and historical significance.
