The Five Lakes Trail near Olympic Valley, California is a popular 4.8-mile out-and-back route that offers a mix of challenging uphill climbs and serene lake views. Hikers can expect a steady ascent at the beginning, followed by a more leisurely stroll around the picturesque lakes. While the trail can get crowded, especially in the summer months, the beauty of the lakes and surrounding wilderness make it a worthwhile adventure for anyone looking to escape into nature. I also like to bring my small fly rod for some beautiful alpine lakes fishing as a reward for making in to the top. Parking is very limited and don't forget your bug spray for those pesky mosquitoes!
