Glaumbær is one of the best examples of turf-farm, and my personal favourite: the reason being that it preserves what I consider the best and most elegant example of baðstofa ("bath room"), which was not a lavatory, but rather the main room where Icelanders slept during the night on the beds along the wall and ate and worked during the day while sitting on the beds, and then entertained each other with the reading of ancient sagas during the long evenings.
