Slippurinn is an innovative and exciting Icelandic restaurant located on the island of Heimaey. It is helmed by chef Gísli Matthías Auðunsson, who makes use of the fantastic local ingredients, such as wild-harvested arctic thyme, lemony sorrel, briny oyster leaf, and yellow-topped pineapple weed growing in volcanic soil. These ingredients, along with fresh local seafood, are whipped up into a variety of delicious dishes and inventive cocktails. Visitors can expect their taste buds to be tantalized... we Reykjavík dwellers do sometimes visit the island just to dine here!
