Arngerðareyri Kastallin is an abandoned Icelandic farmhouse located in the far north of Iceland. It was originally built in 1928 for a merchant manager and later sold to a family of fishermen. Despite its abandonment for 40 years, the iconic farmhouse has since been partly restored, but did not make it to its former glory. Visitors who make the trip to this rural area can expect to see a ruined quay for fishing boats which has some eerie charm to it. 'The Castle' must have been one of the most beautiful buildings in Iceland and certainly worth a visit.
