Peyto Lake is a beautiful and unique glacier-fed lake nestled in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies. There is a big parking lot and a short trail up to the lookout. Make sure to take the Bow Summit exit there is no signs for Peyto Lake on the highway. Takes about 15 min to hike up. Make sure to wear appropriate footware in winter.
With its bright turquoise color, rocky shoreline, and stunning mountain backdrop, it's a favorite sightseeing spot for locals and tourists alike. The lake is fed by Peyto Creek, and is also the source of the mistaya river. It can be seen from Bow Summit, the highest point on the Icefields Parkway, making it ideal for both hikers and day trips to the park. Whether you want to take a picture of the crystal clear mountain-side view or just enjoy the fresh mountain air, a trip to Peyto Lake is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience.
