Jones Lake has a stunning mountain backdrop. There is free camping along the shore. I like to park my car at one of the beaches and stay there for the night to enjoy the scenery. The road can be a little rough so make sure you have an appropriate vehicle.
Wahleach Lake, known to locals as Jones Lake, is a beautiful and serene natural lake and reservoir situated in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. The lake, which was once a resting place for Sto:lo people, has been expanded by an earthfill dam and now stands at 6.4 km long and 1 km wide. With over 600m above the level of the Fraser River, much of its volume is diverted to the nearby Wahleach Powerhouse. In addition to the lakeside vista’s perfect for swimming, fishing and kayaking; adventurous explorers can enjoy hiking along the Jones Lake Forest Service Road, taking in the breathtaking sights of Mount Cheam’s Four Brothers Range. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful day unwinding, or an outdoor adventure with friends, Wahleach Lake offers something for everyone!
