The Icefields Parkway is a must-see for anyone visiting Alberta. I have driven this road many times in all kinds of conditions. I think it is the most beautiful highway in Canada and it should be on the top of the list to drive it. Heavy snowfall make the road inaccessible sometimes in winter. Also there is no cell service on the road. Countless stops on the way will make this a full days journey.
Stretching 144 miles from Jasper in the north to near Lake Louise in the south, this scenic road trip route allows travelers to explore some of Canada's most stunning landscapes. Dotted with dozens of breathtaking points of interest, the Icefields Parkway takes you through majestic mountains and forests, glacial lakes and valleys, roaring waterfalls and tranquil rivers, as well as views of awe-inspiring glaciers such as the Columbia Icefield. With so many picturesque stops to make along the way, driving the Icefields Parkway will make your visit to Alberta an unforgettable experience.
