If you find yourself in Solothurn, make sure to visit the Vitaminstation, my absolute favourite gelateria. Located at Stalden 7, this charming spot is known for its homemade ice cream and refreshing fruit juices, all made with high-quality, regional ingredients. You’ll love the variety of flavors available, from unique options like black sesame and matcha to classic favorites like salted caramel and cheesecake. Plus, there are plenty of vegan sorbets to choose from, including delicious dark chocolate and tangy rhubarb.
One of the best things about Vitaminstation is its commitment to sustainability. The ice cream is produced using solar power, and most of the packaging is compostable, so you can enjoy your treat knowing you’re supporting eco-friendly practices.
While there’s no indoor seating, you can enjoy your ice cream outside or take a leisurely stroll along the nearby river Aare. With reasonable prices and a wide selection of over 60 flavors (about 30 available daily), Vitaminstation is a must-visit destination for ice cream lovers.
Seraina's Tip: Since the Vitaminstation is so popular, the queue can be quite long at times. Don't let that scare you off! It's usually a very fast moving line and it's definitely worth the wait. Plus it gives you some extra time to decide which flavours you're going to take.
