The Schynige Platte Alpine Garden is a must-visit for nature lovers, showcasing over 650 species of Swiss alpine plants in their natural habitat. Nestled at 2,076 meters above sea level, this unique botanical garden is dedicated to preserving and displaying the rich plant diversity of the Swiss Alps.

Just a short walk from the Schynige Platte train station, the garden invites visitors to explore a network of trails winding through carefully cultivated rock gardens and wildflower meadows.

Each plant is labeled with its name and characteristics, making it an excellent opportunity to learn about alpine flora. Depending on the season, you might see vibrant Edelweiss, delicate gentians, or the rare glacier buttercup. Informational panels provide insight into how these plants survive in extreme high-altitude conditions. The garden is at its most colorful in July and August, when the flowers are in full bloom.

Seraina’s Tip: Take your time exploring the garden before heading out on one of the hiking trails. The Panorama Trail is an easy loop that offers stunning views and plenty of wildflowers along the way, making it a perfect extension to your visit.
