Nestled in a tranquil forest near Flims, Lake Cresta (Lag la Cresta in Romansh) is a small yet enchanting alpine lake that feels like a peaceful retreat. Known for its emerald-green waters and serene atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot to reconnect with nature.

The lake is accessible via a leisurely 30-minute walk from Flims or Trin. The path winds through a lush forest, offering a calming prelude to your visit. Once there, you’ll find a designated swimming area with pristine water that’s ideal for a refreshing dip. Unlike some other mountain lakes, Lake Cresta is small and intimate, creating a sense of quiet seclusion.

If you prefer to stay on land, the lakeshore has plenty of grassy areas for picnicking or sunbathing. A charming lakeside restaurant serves local dishes and drinks, making it easy to spend the day unwinding by the water.

Lake Cresta is also a great stop for hikers, as it connects with several trails in the Flims-Trin region, offering a mix of forest paths and scenic viewpoints.

Seraina’s Tip: The lake’s small size means visitor numbers are limited, so head there early to secure a spot and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Don’t forget to take the trail that links Lake Cresta with Caumasee for a memorable day exploring two beautiful alpine lakes.
