The Lone Cypress is a famous Monterey cypress tree perched on a rocky headland in Pebble Beach. Believed to have sprouted around 1750, this iconic tree has weathered the elements over the centuries, becoming a symbol of resilience and natural beauty. With its striking silhouette overlooking Carmel Bay, the Lone Cypress has captured the hearts of many visitors and photographers, earning its title as one of the most photographed trees in North America. Despite facing challenges like erosion and severe weather events, this tree stands tall as a timeless emblem of the coastal landscape.

The tree is located along the 17-Mile Drive, so there is a $12 fee to enter this scenic area. There are around 10 parking spaces, with a small viewing area, so the area can get full quite quickly, especially on weekends.
