The Mist Trail in Yosemite National Park is a classic and popular hike that offers stunning views of Vernal Fall and Nevada Fall. The roughly 3 mile hike to Vernal Falls has over 600 steps leading up to it, so hikers can expect a misty and slippery adventure, especially in the spring and early summer. The trail is usually accessible throughout the autumn season but closed in winter due to icy conditions. Despite the challenges, thousands of people safely hike the Mist Trail every year, making it a must-do for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. But it is definitely a challenging adventure!
Note: Unless you take the shuttle, the nearest parking lot is across from the Upper Pines Campground, which adds on at least another 1 mile overall to your hike.
Pet-friendly: Pets are not permitted on this trail
Soft adventure: Definitely not, this is a strenuous hike
Seasonality: Summer and fall as they close the trail during the winter due to snowy and icy conditions
Fee: Park entry fees change from season to season ($20-$35)
