Carmel River State Beach is a stunning mile-long beach located in Monterey Bay, featuring a bird sanctuary lagoon. It's an ideal spot for nature lovers to take in the views of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary while enjoying family programs and sunbathing at the beach. Boaters will love exploring the waters off Carmel Bay with plenty of fishing and scuba diving spots, as well as restocking up on drinking water, restrooms and parking. Dogs can explore too, as long as they're kept on leash.

Make sure to go explore the Wedding Rock Trail just off the beach.

Pet-friendly: Yes, but must be leashed and well behaved.
