Smugglers Cove is a popular and picturesque trail and location situated on the northern coast of Santa Cruz Island, which is the largest of the five islands that make up the Channel Islands National Park.

Smugglers Cove is known for its natural beauty, rugged coastline, and historical significance. It's accessible by boat or by hiking the 7.7 mile Smugglers Cove Trail from Scorpion Anchorage. The cove features pristine sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, sea caves, and crystal-clear waters. The turquoise-blue waters of the cove make it a fantastic spot for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking.

Along the hike, you'll likely see a variety of wildlife. You may spot seals, sea lions, seabirds, and perhaps even dolphins or whales offshore. Birdwatching is particularly rewarding on the island.

The only way to access the Channel Islands, is by boat. You can either take a private boat, or you can book a ferry through Island Packers which is a partner of the Channel Islands National Park Service.

Pet-friendly: No, pets are not allowed on the island

Soft adventure: No, this is difficult and strenuous adventure

**Seasonality: All seasons

Fee: There is no fee to enter the park, but there is a ferry cost which is roughly $60 per person through Island Packers
