Enjoy this 6.2-mile out and back trail in Russian Gulch State Park near Mendocino, California. This is no soft adventure, and is generally considered a moderately challenging route. Depending on your hiking speed and activity level, it takes an average of 3 hours to complete. We were in a rush to get sunset of the Russian Gulch Bridge and were able to complete the hike in 2 hours, but we were hustling.
This is a very popular area for hiking and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Make sure to go all the way to the end, you won't want to miss the waterfall! And unfortunately you'll need to leave pups at home — dogs aren't allowed on this trail.
