Carnlough is a picturesque coastal village located on the Antrim Coast in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Known for its natural beauty and charming harbor, Carnlough has also gained recognition as a filming location for the popular television series "Game of Thrones."

The village is nestled at the foot of Glencloy, one of the Nine Glens of Antrim, adding to its scenic allure. The village is best known for its picturesque harbor, which is often filled with fishing boats. The harbor area features a distinctive curved sea wall, providing a shelter and photo opportunities!

One of the charming features of Carnlough is the presence of waterfalls cascading down the hillsides. Cranny Falls add to the overall beauty of the village.

Game of Thrones Filming Location:

Carnlough gained fame as a filming location for "Game of Thrones." In the series, Carnlough was used to represent the fictional village of Braavos. Braavos is one of the Free Cities in the world of Westeros and is known for its canals and distinctive architecture. The harbor and picturesque surroundings were featured in scenes set in Braavos, notably those involving Arya Stark. The village's unique coastal features and historic architecture provided an authentic backdrop for the fantasy world of "Game of Thrones." Arya Stark, played by Maisie Williams, is seen walking along the harbor and interacting with characters during her training with the Faceless Men in Braavos. The village's real-world charm was seamlessly integrated into the fantasy narrative of the series.
