Portstewart Strand was used as a filming location for HBO’s"Game of Thrones." In Season 5, the beach and its distinctive dunes were featured in scenes set in the fictional land of Dorne. Specifically, the beach served as the setting for the coast of Dorne, where Jaime Lannister and Bronn arrive by boat. The sandy beaches and rugged coastline of Portstewart added to the visual allure of the fictional Dornish landscape.
