Meihua Lake, also known as Plum Blossom Lake, is a picturesque lake located in Dongshan Township, Yilan County, Taiwan. Its name comes from its resemblance to a plum flower with five petals. Back in the 1970s, President Chiang Ching-kuo was so captivated by its beauty that he decided to rename it Meihua Lake. The lake features a small island at its center, connected to a circular trail by a suspension bridge. It's a great spot for cycling enthusiasts too, thanks to the cycling trail that surrounds the lake. So, if you're ever in the area, don't miss the chance to visit this charming and scenic destination!
