The Katla Ice Cave in South-Iceland is a year-round wonder nestled in the Kötlujökull glacier, part of the mighty Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Formed by melting glacier water carving through the ice, this cave offers a unique peek into Iceland's volcanic history with ash from Katla eruptions dating back centuries. Visitors are treated to a Game of Thrones-esque or Interstellar movie kinda experience as they explore the black and blue ice tunnel, complete with ropes and bridges for easy navigation.
Unfortunately, famous arch cave will disappear in Summer 2024 due to melting, but there are always new tunnels are being formed, so it is worth doing the trip anyway.
