Hvítserkur, a 15-meter tall sea stack off the coast of North-West Iceland, is like a giant petrified troll standing in the ocean. Some say it looks like an elephant or a dinosaur drinking water. Legend has it that the troll got caught by the sun and turned to stone, hence its name meaning "white shirt" due to the bird guano on its surface. Saved from collapse by locals in the 1960s, Hvítserkur is a must-see attraction with a fascinating history and stunning views.
