Óbidos, a stunningly preserved medieval village situated an hour away from Lisbon, is a popular tourist destination in Portugal. It's surrounded by medieval walls and defended by a Moorish castle, which make it a delightful place to explore and take pictures. The town's main attraction includes the Porta da Vila, a beautiful double arched gate with a chapel and balcony located in the middle. There's also the Muralhas da Cidade - the Town Walls of Óbidos - where visitors can take a walk around the ancient city walls and admire the incredible view from top. Plus, there's the Baloiço Óbidos swing located slightly hidden in a small wooded area for that perfect Instagram picture. Finally, let's not forget Castelo de Óbidos - the Castle - and Igreja de São Tiago church, as well as the delicious Ginjinha d'Obidos - Sour Cherry Liquor - available all over town. Óbidos is certainly worth a day trip, or even a night stay, giving plenty of activities to do and sights to see!
