Botanical Garden of Ribeira do Guilherme, waterfall. Nice to combine with Nordeste area of the island.

Botanical Garden of Ribeira do Guilherme, typical vegetation of Macaronesia.

The Botanical Garden of Ribeira do Guilherme is a botanical garden and park located in Lomba da Fazenda, municipality in the Northeast, on the Azorean island of São Miguel, Azores Archipelago.

This botanical garden located on the slopes of Serra da Tronqueira occupies part of the course of Ribeira do Guilherme, a river where the Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park is also located.

This park is composed of abundant vegetation cover typical of the forests of Macaronesia, where Laurissilva is dominant. The fact that in its forests there is the Priolo associated with plant variety led to the inclusion of part of the park in the Special Protection Zone of Pico da Vara and Ribeira do Guilherme.

Along the course of the river, and due to the slopes of the terrain, waterfalls appear whose waters operate old mills and feed lakes where it is possible to observe swans.

In the final section of this river, the place called Boca da Ribeira was used to make a Camping Park and almost by the sea a saltwater pool.

Through this park passes the pedestrian rail PRC31SMI - Pedestrian Trail of Lomba da Fazenda that crosses this stream whose waters have largely origin in springs located in Pico Verde.
