Arabati Baba Tekke is a famous Bektashi tekke in Tetovo, North Macedonia. It is one of the finest surviving Bektashi lodges in Europe and has become an iconic symbol for the city; it is even featured on the municipal coat of arms! The building was originally built in 1538 around the türbe (burial chamber) of Sersem Ali Baba, an Ottoman dervish. The sprawling complex consists of flowered lawns, prayer rooms, dining halls, lodgings, and houses a beautiful marble fountain inside a wooden pavilion. It provides a unique glimpse into the culture and religion of a bygone era.
