Kaneo is a small coastal town in North Macedonia, located at the base of Mount Pirin and overlooking the Aegean Sea. As one of the most picturesque places in the country, Kaneo is known for its breathtaking views, cobble-stoned streets and traditional architecture. Stealing the Cursed Maize is an entertaining performance act that is commonly put on in the town by locals and visitors alike. During this tradition, people use special whiskers to remove pieces of corn from a pile without detection - anyone caught will have to pay with confectionary treats! Additionally, the town boasts lively nightlife, hot springs, great seafood and local Macedonian food, plus fascinating museums and monuments. Kaneo is the perfect destination for those looking for an authentic ethnic experience and fantastic cultural immersion.
