The Ilinden Monument, also known as Makedonium, is a stunning structure located in Kruševo, North Macedonia. Designed by Jordan Grabuloski and Iskra Grabuloska, the monument was officially opened on August 2 of 1974 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Second Session of the Anti-fascist Assembly for the National Liberation of Macedonia and the 71st anniversary of the 1903 Ilinden uprising. The grounds cover 5 hectares (12 acres) and feature a rounded shape with oval windows, symbolizing freedom won in liberation wars, a crypt with carvings of historical names and events, and an inner dome containing the tomb of Nikola Karev and bust of Toše Proeski. From the dome, there are panoramic views depicting locations associated with Ilinden-related events. It is truly a remarkable sight that visitors can enjoy for years to come.
