Signal Hill, also known as Lion's Rump, is a flat-topped hill in Cape Town that offers stunning views of the city center and Atlantic Seaboard. It's famous for the Noon Gun fired by the South African Navy and Astronomical Observatory. The hill was historically used to communicate weather warnings to ships and has tombs for Muslim missionaries. Signal Hill is also home to the critically endangered Peninsula Shale Renosterveld vegetation, making it a unique spot in the world. It's a popular spot for watching the sunset and enjoying the panoramic views of Cape Town.
