4 WD ONLY!!! No Watercrossings, usually acessible for DIY tour from June - September
Krakatindur is a badass volcano in the remote Highlands of Iceland. It's part of the Hekla volcanic system. The get there you first need a 4 Wheel Drive as it is offroad and you need to ask your rental provider if you are allowed to go because most of them do not allow it. The road has some steep inclines and is technical to drive but usually has no rivercrossings. The fastest and easiest way to get there is from f225 and turn off right at this spot https://maps.app.goo.gl/r1kVTmFLwUCtfvLX6. You will then be on the Krakatindur Track.
DO NOT follow google maps blindly to this location. Google maps rarely works properly in the highlands and more than often roads are not even marked.
