Bláfjallafoss was probably one of the coolest but most nerve wrecking experiences in Iceland which involves driving over a waterfall through a river crossing. To get here you need to follow the road 209 and then merge left onto F232 (right here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XPtngXPxTf9Xs6RB8) which requires a very good high clearance 4 WD as the road is very bumpy with large rocks and more than 6 water crossing leading up to Blafjallafoss.

When you arrive at the Blafjallafoss Crossing getting into the crossing is easy but getting back up out on the other side requires a lot of 4WD experience and high clearance as the way is very washed out. Only attempt this track with a very good 4WD and the right weather conditions.

Keep in mind: river crossings are not insured with any rental company in Iceland.
