The Ninoy Aquino International Airport, also known as Manila International Airport, is most likely the first place in the Philippines you will see. From arrival to leaving this airport calculate enough time as security controls can be quite busy with a long waiting line.
From here you can fly (most often direct) to these destinations:
Coron
El Nido
Siargao
Puerto Princessa
Cebu
Bohol
Note:
1. Do not leave your bags unattended here. Manila airport was voted as one of the unsafest airports in the world in 2015. Times have changed and the Philippines are incredibly safe but it is better to be cautious.
2. When exiting the airport, taxi drivers will swarm around you to take you to your hotel, next terminal or mall. DO NOT let them take your bags and drive you. They have scammed many of our friends by 60$ or more. Instead download the Grab app and order a taxi from there, 100% safe. If you want to change the terminal (e.g. you fly to Coron from domestic terminal), then there is also a free bus commuting between the terminals. Ask the airport staff for the exact location. The bus driver tries to collect money from you but do not give him any money as the bus is advertised as free.
3. Philippines is all about cash, if you want the best rates for exchanging money or withdrawing money (use Wise Card), then do this in Manila Airport which actually has some of the best rates out there. Once you are on the remote islands, it is very hard to find an ATM without horrendous fees or scamming.
