From a bird's-eye view, Ochagavía appears like a small reservoir of brown rooftops and white facades, nestled in a valley of green pines and beech trees 🌲. On ground level, the suspicions are confirmed: this village is the perfect postcard that encapsulates the Navarrese Pyrenees 🗻. The 12th-century Romanesque hermitage of Muskilda, reached by a 4 km hike, seems to gaze indulgently at the beauty of the village, which celebrates a pilgrimage in its honor every September 8th 🏞️. A few days earlier, the entire town transforms. In what seems like a genuine journey through time, its residents, conveniently dressed in period attire, reproduce vanished trades and the lifestyle that once thrived in these streets a century ago 🕰️.

Located just a few kilometers from the French border, the steep streets of this Navarrese locality put the legs of any visitor to the test as they venture to explore the historic center, which includes medieval palaces and heraldic houses 🏰. Like a mirror, the River Anduña reflects the image of the traditional homes that characterize Ochagavía 🏡.
