The skyline of this beautiful Leonese village 🏞️, also a pilgrimage point on the Camino de Santiago 🚶‍♂️, is defined by two recognizable icons: the Castle of the Marquises 🏰 and the Collegiate Church of Santa María ⛪. The former is an unmistakable masonry structure with four towers, built in the 16th century 🏯. The latter was erected on an ancient monastery and stands out for its mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque elements, making it a unique construction 🌟. Very close by are the Alameda Gardens 🌸. The monumental richness of Villafranca seems almost infinite: the Church of San Nicolás ⛪, the Church of San Francisco ⛪, the Convent of San Nicolás el Real 🏛️... But one of the must-visit places is the Weaver's Quarter 🧶, where one can feel like walking through authentic medieval Villafranca, with a string of wooden balconies overhead 🌳.
