Hike
Hike
4-6h
The hike begins shortly after leaving Fleix, the second village of the Vall de Laguar. Just after leaving there, you reach the 'Font Grossa' and the old laundry. To the right, the path appears. 🌳
At the beginning, the path descends, which is appreciated since the subsequent climbs are quite steep. The next steps are taken alongside the head of the 'Barranc del Salt', several tens of meters high. After a short time, you reach 'El Forat', a hole carved in the rock marking the border between the previous section and allowing you to continue advancing to the bottom of the ravine. A few seconds to catch your breath and gather strength for what's to come: a climb that surpasses 300 meters in altitude by stone stairs, the steepest climb of the day. 💪
The zigzagging path leads upwards to the 'Pozo de la Juvea'. It's common to find hikers refreshing here. There's still a long way to go. The path seems to soften at the 'Juvees d'Enmig'. But soon the descent to the canyon begins again, and the hiker has to climb again. The start of the sports canyon is not far, barely 200 meters away. The spectacle is amazing. Vertical walls that seem to ascend to the sky, populated by lush vegetation. The slope leading to the 'Juvees de Dalt' is now more exhausting. 🏞️
Then comes the descent through the 'Barranc de Racons', and as the hike nears its end, another endless zigzag ascent. The goal is to reach Benimaurell. But first, you have to cross this small village until you reach the 'Font del Benimaurell'. Now yes. From here to Fleix, there's only a gentle stroll along an asphalted path between terraces. 🚶♂️
14.5 kilometers in a loop. An essential hike in Alicante for all nature and culture lovers, in a secluded location with history. The perfect option to enjoy the natural landscapes of the Valencian Community. 🌿
