The Mont-Rebei Gorge is a true spectacle of nature. It's a hidden gem nestled high up between the provinces of Lleida and Huesca, and it tends to be safe from mass tourism due to the difficulty of access. The Mont-Rebei Gorge, spanning about 600 hectares, is not suitable for high heels or for those with vertigo. The vertical walls of the gorge are impressive, reaching heights of up to 500 meters and stretching far away in a path that seems carved into the rock. In return, the landscape is breathtaking, exposing you to extraordinary natural beauty. You'll be able to admire the surroundings from above and watch as canoes and kayaks glide along the river's course. 🏞️🚣‍♂️

Upon leaving the Mont-Rebei Gorge, there is the option to continue to the hanging bridge of the Seguer Gorge, which connects to the Montfalcó route, already in Huesca. The Mont-Rebei Gorge seems sculpted by a brilliant artist, such is the perfection of its forms. In addition to the incredible views enjoyed here, one must also value the flora and fauna of the surroundings, where vultures, eagles, bearded vultures, and otters abound. You can also find, along the route, a small cave with prehistoric remains. Additionally, you'll notice that there are sections of the river where its width does not exceed 20 meters. 🦅🌿

The Mont-Rebei Gorge can be traversed via a trail that is part of the GR-1.

There is a short route that involves following the path from north to south from the La Masieta parking lot. It's a trail of almost 4 kilometers, which can be extended to the hanging bridge that crosses the Seguer Gorge and continues to the Montfalcó hostel. It takes approximately 4 hours to complete (round trip). The second option is intended for hikers familiar with strenuous hikes and proposes traveling from south to north from the parking lot of the Mare de Déu de la Pertusa hermitage to the second hanging bridge. It's a journey of about 9 kilometers. 🚶‍♂️🌄

And there is a third alternative, which is to do the route from the Montfalcó hostel to the Gorge.

We are facing a gorge that overlooks the Noguera Ribagorçana river as it passes through the Montsec mountain range, a river that forms a natural border between Aragon and Catalonia. It's an ideal destination for enjoying a weekend getaway, as it offers dreamy landscapes. It is located precisely between the regions of La Ribagorza, in Aragon, and Pallars Jussà, in Catalonia, although its most popular access is from Lleida. 🏞️🌉
