Kýlingavatn lake, located in the Highland region of Iceland, is more like a lagoon that occasionally gets flooded by the glacial river Tungnaa. It's named after two cone-shaped mountains nearby. The area surrounding the lake offers breathtaking views, with Mt. Kirkjufell standing tall and adorned with obsidian. And let's not forget about the stunning spreads of cotton grass that you won't find anywhere else in the country! Fishing enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the catch can be quite good, especially after the lake has been flooded. So if you're up for some solitude and natural beauty, Kýlingavatn is definitely worth a visit.
