Another very famous spot of Iceland and a must see. Jökulsárlon is the main glacier lagoon of Iceland and by far the biggest one. The icebergs usually gather just at the viewpoint since the get stuck there before they melt and continue out to the ocean. Because of the current, they move around and you can hear them crashing into each other and flipping.
On a nice day you could spend a very long time here. There are restrooms and food trucks on site and across the street is Diamond Beach.
A number of tours meet here as well, mainly for the nearby ice caves and boat rides on the lagoon.
This is also a favorite spot for capturing the Northern Lights when the forecast looks good.
