Gerðuberg Cliffs is a fascinating geological site located on the Snӕfellsnes Peninsula in western Iceland. This scenic area consists of perfectly shaped hexagonal basalt columns that form a stunning wall along the roadside. These unique structures were created by lava flowing from cliffs thousands of years ago, and cooled so quickly by the sea that it resulted in these remarkable shapes.

From the parking lot you can walk along the base of the columns and then climb up the columns themselves for a view of the surrounding landscape and maybe even see the Snæfellsjökull glacier in the distance.
