Hraunfossar ('Lava Falls') is a breathtaking series of waterfalls located in West Iceland. As many waterfalls as there are in Iceland, this one is truly unique. The water pours out of the earth, finding it's way through the surrounding lava field. And, the water is a brilliant blue!

Continue along the walking paths to find another waterfall, Barnafoss, which is incredibly powerful.

Park in the desginated lot and stop in the small cafe for a treat or to use the restroom.

Mostly flat gravel paths lead to the viewing platforms. Climb the rocky steps for a view overlooking the entire area.
