The Chutes de la Karera Falls in Burundi are a stunning series of waterfalls located in the southeastern part of the country. These falls cover over 142 hectares and consist of six branches divided into three landings. The main fall is about 80 meters long with two parallel branches pouring into a basin. There are also smaller waterfalls and platforms that add to the beauty of the site. The Chutes de la Karera Falls, along with the Nyakazu Fault, have been recognized on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List for their cultural and natural significance.

This place is a bit far from the capital and could mean most of the day on the road. For this reason, I did not go. However, my wife has been before. She enjoyed her time but questioned whether it was worth the drive. It depends on what you want to do! You have to pay an entrance fee to visit the falls.
