Beach
Beach
Whether you're a shredder or a beginner, everyone is at Dunes. Dunes is one of the more consistent surf breaks on the west side, so it's a safe bet when doing your surf checks. It's really tidal and heaps of urchins, so just be aware when walking across the reef - especially at low tide.
There's also a little hut and sun shade on the beach, so if you're looking for a beach to surf and lay at, Dunes is a good one.
The carpark is a social scene to say the least, so if you're looking for other travellers - they're probably at Dunes (or Town Beach).
Dunes is lowkey out of the Rangers' jurisdiction (it's on naval base land), but the police may come around late at night to move on free campers.
