Freycinet was such a highlight from our time in Tassie! We did it over 2 days, here's what we go up to:
Day 1:
Start with a morning hike to the Wineglass Bay Lookout. It’s a relatively short walk (about 1.5 hours return), but the views of the turquoise waters and the crescent-shaped beach are jaw-dropping. Take your time here, snap some photos, and really take in the beauty of this iconic spot.
Afterward, head down to Wineglass Bay Beach for a dip in the col, crystal-clear water. It’s a great way to cool off after your hike.
In the afternoon, if you’re up for a bit more adventure, tackle the Hazards Beach Circuit. It’s an 11 km loop that will take you through some stunning coastal scenery, from beaches to rocky outcrops. It’s a longer hike but well worth it for the diverse landscapes and peaceful vibe.
Day 2:
Get an early start on your second day, as I'd recommend tackling the more challenging, but incredibly rewarding, Mount Amos hike. The climb is steep, with some rocky scrambling along the way, but it’s so so so much fun! The effort is absolutely worth it when you reach the top—expect panoramic views of Wineglass Bay, the Hazards Mountains, and the entire coastline. It’s one of the best hikes I've ever done - with some of the best views in Tasmania. Allow about 3-4 hours for the round trip.
After descending Mount Amos, reward yourself with a quiet afternoon at Hazards Beach.
Enjoy! X
