Alarka Creek Falls is a great waterfall to visit near Bryson City if you want a little more solitude and you want to bring your dog along! Since Bryson City is so close to the Smokies, many of the waterfalls are not dog-friendly, but this one is :) It's also only about a 20-minute drive from downtown.

I wouldn't say it's the most beautiful waterfall I've ever seen, but it is pretty and provides good exercise for everyone. I enjoyed the fact that there was only one other couple on the trail while we were there. There's nothing challenging about the hike, just a good excuse to be outside!
