The church of Santa Maria della Greca is the oldest in Locorotondo, although only the year of its last construction is known, 1480, by Pirro Orsini del Balzo, Prince of Taranto.

The facade is gabled with lateral slopes, on the entrance portal there is a rose window which replaced the previous one dating back to the Middle Ages in the 20th century which unfortunately was destroyed.

The church has a three nave plan with a typical cummerse roof and with an articulated arrangement of limestone slabs called chiancarelle.

The interior houses paintings from the 16th century. On the central nave there is a portal with a raised lunette and a splendid pierced rose window. The central Renaissance altar is dedicated to the Madonna delle Rose. At the corners of the aisles there are two statues of San Pietro a Paolo, while in the left aisle there is the sculptural group of San Giorgio, which dates back to 1559 and before being transferred here was placed in the Mother Church of San Giorgio.
