The Teatro Petruzzelli is an opera house located in the city of Bari, Italy and is the fourth largest theatre in the country. It was built in 1903 by brothers Onofrio and Antonio Petruzzelli and engineer Angelo Bari Cicciomessere and has provided a platform for many great artists over its long history. As well as hosting operas, ballets and concerts, some iconic films have been shot inside the theatre such as Il Giovane Toscanini and Polvere di stelle. Unfortunately, this illustrious status did not last forever, due to a 1991 arson attack that completely destroyed the building. However, fast forward to 2009 and the theatre was reconstructed with public money and officially reopened, showing the world that even after catastrophe this historical space stands strong.
