Bari, the capital of Puglia in the heel of Italy’s boot, is brimming with wonders! Visitors to Bari will be captivated by its fascinating past - the historic center holds a number of timeless buildings and monuments, including parts of the original 12th century walls, the Church of Saint Nicholas built in 1087 and supposedly housing the remains of St. Nicholas, and the impressive Castello Svevo of 12th century origin, that was later used as a royal residence and barracks. Bari will also tantalize your taste buds - local specialitiessuch as the tiella, orecchiette pasta, and the famous creamy burrata cheese await! You won’t be short of sightseeing either - take a stroll along the seaside promenade, and if you wish, rent a bike for an even more enjoyable ride around this charming seaside city.
