Dulcis in fundo, go to the village of Riomaggiore, the easternmost of the Cinque Terre. From Manarola you can only reach Riomaggiore by train because the wonderful and famous Via dell'Amore (path that connected these two villages) has been closed for years due to a landslide.
Riomaggiore, located on the Italian Riviera, is a charming village that offers magnificent views and plenty of traditional activities to enjoy. Here visitors can explore the medieval Castle of Riomaggiore or take in the colorful stone houses that are stacked next to each other along the harbor filled with fishing boats. Travelers can get their heart pumping by hiking the Via Dell'Amore (The Way of Love) trail, strolling along the main street that stops at the village's picturesque harbor, or partaking in the local delicacies. Whether it's exploring the Oratorio di Santa Maria Assunta, admiring the view of the coast from the castle terrace, trying out traditional Ligurian dishes and wines, or enjoying some outdoor recreation, Riomaggiore is the perfect destination for anyone looking for a fun and relaxing vacation escape.
